Hellboy (2004)

Hellboy (2004) is a supernatural action film directed by Guillermo del Toro, based on the Dark Horse Comics series created by Mike Mignola. The film follows Hellboy (Ron Perlman), a demon who was summoned to Earth by the evil Grigori Rasputin during World War II but was discovered and raised by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm (John Hurt) of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.).

Now an adult, Hellboy works as a paranormal investigator and is tasked with stopping various supernatural threats. When Rasputin returns, seeking to unleash an ancient evil upon the world, Hellboy must confront his own demonic origins and the prophecy that suggests he will bring about the apocalypse.

With the help of his B.P.R.D. colleagues, including the aquatic Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) and the pyrokinetic Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), Hellboy battles Rasputin and his monstrous minions. Along the way, Hellboy grapples with his identity and the nature of his destiny, ultimately choosing to fight for humanity rather than embrace the role of a world-destroying demon.

Hellboy combines dark fantasy, action, and humor, featuring vibrant visual effects and a unique blend of horror and comic-book adventure. The film explores themes of destiny, acceptance, and the struggle between good and evil.
