Starring: Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Joaquim de Almeida, Steve Buscemi

Plot Overview:

Desperado is a high-octane action film and the second entry in Robert Rodriguez’s “Mexico Trilogy” (following El Mariachi and preceding Once Upon a Time in Mexico). It stars Antonio Banderas as El Mariachi, a mysterious and highly skilled gunslinger with a vendetta against a powerful drug lord, Bucho (Joaquim de Almeida).

The film opens with El Mariachi arriving in a small Mexican town, seeking revenge for the death of his lover. His quest for vengeance puts him on a collision course with Bucho, a ruthless crime boss who has his own army of henchmen. Along the way, El Mariachi is drawn into a deadly confrontation with Bucho’s forces, while developing a tender relationship with Carolina (Salma Hayek), a local bar owner who harbors secrets of her own.

As the stakes grow higher, El Mariachi finds himself caught between love, loyalty, and a brutal quest for justice. Armed with two guns and a burning need for revenge, he must face down Bucho’s criminal empire in an explosive showdown that will leave no one unscathed.
