Sting (2024)
When nature’s smallest predator becomes humanity’s biggest nightmare.
Sting is a pulse-pounding creature feature that transforms a seemingly ordinary summer into a fight for survival. Set in a remote coastal town, the film begins with marine biologist Dr. Sophie Lane (Florence Pugh) investigating an unusual ecological event: a swarm of jellyfish mysteriously washing ashore. However, the true terror is discovered when a new species—a hybrid of jellyfish and arachnid with a deadly sting—emerges from the ocean depths, evolving rapidly and hunting anything in its path.
As the creatures swarm inland, cutting off communication and trapping residents, Sophie teams up with rugged local fisherman Jake (Chris Hemsworth) to uncover the origins of these nightmarish predators. Racing against time, the duo discovers that the creatures are the result of a clandestine experiment gone horribly wrong, and the town becomes ground zero for a global catastrophe.
Directed by James Wan (The Conjuring, Aquaman), Sting combines heart-stopping tension with spectacular visual effects, bringing a horrifyingly unique monster to life. Packed with suspense, action, and a touch of environmental commentary, Sting is a thrilling dive into the depths of fear.
The ocean hides many secrets. Some should stay buried.
