Firestarter (1984)
Firestarter (1984) is a supernatural horror film directed by Mark L. Lester and based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.
The film stars Drew Barrymore as Charlie McGee, a young girl with extraordinary pyrokinetic abilitiesβshe can create and control fire with her mind.
The story follows Charlie and her father, Andy McGee (played by David Keith), who are on the run from a secret government agency called “The Shop”.
The agency previously conducted experiments on Andy and his wife, Vicky, which resulted in Charlie’s powerful abilities. After Vicky’s death, Andy and Charlie are pursued by The Shop, who want to capture Charlie and exploit her powers for their own purposes.
