Edward Paltzik said juror Michael P. Desronvil had ‘a mountain of evidence’ supporting his position during deliberations

The attorney for the lone holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is pushing back on a claim that his client refused to follow the law, telling Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany that the juror had no doubt about his decision.

In a preview of an interview airing Monday on “Fox & Friends,” McEnany asked attorney Edward Paltzik whether juror Michael P. Desronvil ever had reasonable doubt after the jury foreperson sent the judge a note accusing him of refusing to follow the law on reasonable doubt.

“Michael had zero doubt,” Paltzik said.

“Zero doubt. No doubt, and he had evidence to back up his position?” McEnany responded.

“A lot of evidence, a mountain of evidence,” Paltzik said.

Desronvil was the lone holdout after seven days of deliberations in Clancy’s trial. Eleven jurors were prepared to find the former labor and delivery nurse not criminally responsible for 𝘬iᩚlling her three children, while Desronvil held out for a conviction. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial Sept. 4.

Clancy admitted 𝘬iᩚlling 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan at the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Her defense argued that postpartum psychosis left her not criminally responsible. Prosecutors argued she understood what she was doing and planned the killings.

Desronvil later said he believed the physical evidence and witness testimony showed Clancy knew what she was doing. Prosecutors have not announced whether they will retry her. She is due back in court Sept. 29.
