The investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has entered another ᑕriᩚtiᩚcal phase as authorities continue pursuing new leads more than six months after she vanished from her Arizona home.

In a significant investigative step, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has publicly released two ransom notes that were sent shortly after Nancy’s disappearance. Investigators say the unusual writing style, wording, and specific details contained in the letters could help identify the person responsible. Officials are urging anyone who recognizes the handwriting or language patterns to come forward with information.

The first note demanded $4 million in cryptocurrency in exchange for Nancy’s safe return. A second note, sent days later, claimed she had died and was “buried in nature.” However, investigators have stressed that they have not verified the claim, and they continue to treat the case as an active missing-person and kidnapping investigation rather than confirming Nancy’s dєatᩚh.

Savannah Guthrie and her family have renewed their public plea for information, asking anyone who may recognize the writing or know anything about the disappearance to contact law enforcement. Authorities say the release of the notes has already generated additional tips, although no arrests have been announced and no suspect has been publicly identified.

Investigators continue to analyze forensic evidence collected from Nancy’s home, surveillance footage, and information received from the public. The FBI remains involved in the investigation, and substantial rewards are still being offered for information that could help locate Nancy or identify those responsible.

For now, despite widespread online rumors, there has been no official announcement that Nancy Guthrie has been found. Authorities say the investigation remains active and continue to ask the public not to rely on unverified social media claims while the search continues.
