NEW CLAIMS EMERGE IN NANCY GUTHRIE DISAPPEARANCE — BUT AUTHORITIES HAVE NOT CONFIRMED A BREAKTHROUGH

An online report alleges that an informant has provided investigators with new information about the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother. However, the claims remain unverified, and officials have not publicly confirmed that two men have been identified as suspects.

New claims are circulating about the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, as the search for answers continues.

According to a report attributed to The Midwest Pundit, a man detained during an immigration enforcement operation in Texas allegedly told investigators he had information related to Nancy’s disappearance.

The report describes an alleged account involving two men who supposedly planned a burglary at Nancy’s home before the situation escalated. It further claims that the informant provided information about where Nancy might have been taken.

However, these details have not been independently verified, and no official statement confirming the alleged account was identified in the reporting reviewed for this article.

The online report also alleges that investigators are examining two men as persons of interest and reviewing records that reportedly show individuals with matching names crossing into Mexico through the Douglas Port of Entry in February.

It further claims that authorities are examining a possible location for evidence that could support or disprove the informant’s account.

At present, these allegations should be treated cautiously. A name match or reported border crossing would not, by itself, establish involvement in a disappearance.

Authorities have not publicly confirmed that the two men described in the report are suspects in Nancy’s case, nor have they verified the alleged account of what happened inside her home.

WHAT AUTHORITIES HAVE CONFIRMED

Nancy was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson, Arizona, on the evening of January 31, 2026. Her family reported her missing the following day.

Investigators believe she was taken against her will. FBI-released surveillance images and video showed a masked individual appearing to tamper with a camera outside her home around the time she disappeared.

The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have continued investigating, including examining digital evidence, surveillance footage and forensic material. The FBI has also communicated with Mexican authorities as part of its investigative efforts.

Although several people were detained for questioning during the early stages of the investigation, those individuals were released without charges. Authorities have not publicly announced an arrest in connection with Nancy’s disappearance.

The FBI continues to seek information that could help locate her and identify the person or people responsible.

JUST IN: Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mother of Savannah Guthrie, has been found…A FAMILY STILL WAITING FOR ANSWERS

Nancy’s disappearance has attracted national attention, with her family making public appeals for information and hoping for answers about what happened to her.

Every new allegation brings the possibility of renewed hope, but unverified reports can also spread confusion and lead to speculation about people who have not been shown to be involved.

For that reason, investigators must establish whether any new information is supported by reliable evidence before drawing conclusions.

Anyone with information about Nancy’s disappearance can contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or submit a tip through the agency’s official website.

COULD THIS LEAD TO A BREAKTHROUGH?

If investigators receive credible new information, it could help direct searches, identify witnesses or establish a more complete timeline of Nancy’s disappearance.

But the claims attributed to The Midwest Pundit have not been confirmed by law enforcement, and there is currently no verified basis for concluding that the alleged two-man account explains what happened.

For Nancy’s family, the most important unanswered question remains the same: Where is Nancy Guthrie, and what happened to her?

Until authorities confirm further developments, the case remains unresolved.
