URGENT SEARCH FOR MISSING TEEN GEORGIE NOLAN, 19, AS RESCUE TEAMS SCOUR CANAL AMID FEARS FOR HER SAFETY

Specialist teams and local volunteers have joined the search for the teenager, who was last seen near a canal in Wiltshire in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A desperate search is underway for 19-year-old Georgie Nolan after she went missing near a canal in Wiltshire, prompting growing concern from police and a major response from specialist search and rescue teams.

Georgie was last seen in the early hours of Saturday, October 24, near The Barge Inn beside the Kennet and Avon Canal in Bradford on Avon. According to Wiltshire Police, she was last seen at around 5 a.m., and officers have expressed increasing concern for her safety.

One of the main concerns is that she may have fallen into the water. However, this remains a possibility being investigated, and authorities have not confirmed what happened to her.

SPECIALIST TEAMS JOIN THE SEARCH

Search efforts have focused on sections of the canal, including areas around boats moored behind The Barge Inn.

The operation has involved specialist teams from Wiltshire Search and Rescue, supported by Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue and Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs.

Volunteers have also helped comb the area. Reports describe searchers wading through the water and using long poles to check beneath boats, while an underwater camera attached to a pole was used to inspect difficult-to-reach areas.

The search has drawn attention to the challenging conditions rescue teams face when checking narrow waterways and spaces beneath moored vessels.

As of the latest report published by The Irish Sun on October 26, the search was continuing in the Bradford on Avon area. The full extent of the area covered had not been disclosed.
