“PLEASE HELP US BRING HIM HOME” — FATHER, 63, STILL MISSING ONE WEEK AFTER DISAPPEARING AS STORM BOELO HITS SCOTLAND
Tom Allan was last seen by his family at a farm in South Lanarkshire on October 23. As specialist search teams continue their efforts, police have issued a fresh appeal and urged residents to check sheds, outbuildings and security camera footage.
A family in Scotland is desperately waiting for answers after a 63-year-old father disappeared without a trace, prompting an extensive search involving police divers, mountain rescue teams and specialist search units.
Tom Allan was last seen by his family at Westmains Farm in the Stonehouse area of South Lanarkshire at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026.
He was reported missing later that evening after his loved ones were unable to establish where he had gone.
A week later, his whereabouts remained unknown.
Police Scotland has now renewed its appeal for information, saying officers are increasingly concerned for his welfare.
A SEARCH THAT HAS CONTINUED FOR DAYS
Since Tom was reported missing, officers have carried out extensive searches across the farmland and surrounding areas.
The operation has involved the police helicopter, specialist dive and marine units, police dogs, mountain rescue teams and partner agencies.
Despite these efforts, Tom has not yet been located.
The search has also taken place as Scotland experienced severe weather associated with Storm Boelo, bringing powerful winds and heavy rain to parts of the country.
However, authorities have not established whether the storm played any role in Tom’s disappearance.
POLICE URGE RESIDENTS TO CHECK SHEDS AND OUTBUILDINGS
In an earlier appeal, police asked people living, walking or driving around Stonehouse to remain alert and check their gardens, sheds and outbuildings in case Tom had sought shelter.
Inspector Kenny MacRobert said:
“Tom has now been missing for a week, and we are very concerned for his welfare.”
He also urged anyone who had been walking in the area during the previous week to think carefully about whether they might have seen Tom.
Motorists were specifically asked to review dashcam recordings for anything that could help investigators establish his movements.
Even a seemingly small detail could prove important.
WHAT TOM WAS WEARING WHEN HE DISAPPEARED
Tom is described as white, approximately 6ft 1in tall, with grey hair.
When last seen, he was wearing blue overalls and a white cap. He may also have been wearing a green jacket.
His family has shared photographs and details of his clothing in the hope that someone might recognise him or remember seeing him around the time he disappeared.
A FAMILY WAITING FOR ANSWERS
For Tom’s loved ones, every passing day without news has brought more uncertainty.
His daughter and other relatives have joined the appeal, asking people to continue sharing his photograph and reporting anything that could help locate him.
The family’s message is simple: they want Tom home.
Police Scotland is continuing its enquiries and is urging anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward.
Anyone who has seen Tom Allan or has information that could assist the search is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 2759 of October 23.
HOPE REMAINS AS THE SEARCH CONTINUES
One week after Tom disappeared, his family is still waiting for the news they desperately want to hear.
Search teams continue to work through the surrounding area, while police are appealing to the public to help fill in the gaps surrounding his disappearance.
For those who love him, the uncertainty is unbearable.
They are hoping that someone, somewhere, may have seen something that could finally help bring Tom home.
