CHRISTa PIKE BREAKS HER SILENCE ONE MONTH AFTER BOTCHED exє𝔠uti☉n — “THERE HASN’T BEEN A MOMENT” WITHOUT PAIN

The Tennessee dєatᩚh row inmate says she woke up in a hospital days after surviving two lєthaℓ-inje𝔠ti☉n doses, describing ongoing physical and emotional suffering.

Christa Pike has spoken publicly for the first time since surviving a failed exє𝔠uti☉n attempt in Tennessee, revealing that she continues to experience pain one month after the procedure.

In a statement released through her attorneys on October 30, Pike described entering the exє𝔠uti☉n chamber on September 30 prepared to die.

She said she had said goodbye to the people who loved and supported her, believing that night would be the end of her life.

But the exє𝔠uti☉n did not go as planned.

After receiving two doses of the lєthaℓ-inje𝔠ti☉n drug pentobarbital, Pike remained alive. She was taken to a hospital, where she spent several days in ᑕriᩚtiᩚcal condition.

“Several days later I woke up alone in a hospital confused and in pain,” she said.

“There hasn’t been a moment since that night when I haven’t been in pain.”

Pike, now 50, described continuing discomfort in her body, arms, hands and throat. She also said she still struggles to speak.

But the effects, she explained, have gone beyond physical injuries.

“The pain isn’t just physical. There is pain in my mind and in my soul,” she said.

Pike also expressed anger over what she described as incompetence surrounding the failed procedure.

She said she was recovering and becoming stronger, but added that physical healing did not mean she was emotionally well.

“I am recovering, and I know that I am getting stronger. But healing is not the same as being okay,” she said.

Pike also addressed the family of Colleen Slemmer, the 19-year-old woman she was convicted of torturing and 𝘬iᩚlling in 1995.

In her statement, Pike said she continued to think about Slemmer’s loved ones and the suffering caused by their loss.

Slemmer’s mother, May Martinez, had travelled to Tennessee to witness the scheduled exє𝔠uti☉n.

The failed procedure left the victim’s family facing another unexpected chapter in a case that has remained with them for more than three decades.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Since returning from hospital, Pike has been recovering in the prison’s medical ward and says she has been largely isolated from other people.

She also said she was searching for meaning in what happened and did not know why she had survived that night or what would come next.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has paused executions through the end of 2026 while the state examines what went wrong.

For now, no new exє𝔠uti☉n date has been announced for Pike.

“I don’t know why I survived that night. I don’t know what comes next,” she said.

“Some days, finding hope is harder than others. For now, I am trying to heal, one day at a time.”

Her statement marks the first time she has publicly described her experience since the September 30 exє𝔠uti☉n attempt — an event that has raised serious questions about Tennessee’s lєthaℓ-inje𝔠ti☉n process.
