THE “MIRACLE BABY” BORN WITH TWO FACES — AND THE FAMILY WHO JUST WANTS HER TO BE TREATED LIKE ANY OTHER CHILD

Barely a month old, little Lali has already become the center of attention in her village after being born with an extremely rare condition known as craniofacial duplication.

Lali was born with two sets of eyes, noses and lips — a condition that left her father, Vinod Singh, frightened when he first saw his newborn daughter.

“When I first saw her, I was scared. It was natural,” Vinod said. “But now I feel blessed. She is my daughter, and I love her just as she is.”

According to doctors, Lali is currently healthy and able to breathe normally and drink milk through either mouth. Doctors in Delhi have explained that separating the two sides of her face is not possible, although they wanted to conduct further examinations to better understand her internal organs.

But while doctors see a rare medical condition, many villagers see something entirely different.

People have traveled long distances simply to catch a glimpse of Lali. Some bring offerings of money, believing the tiny baby may possess special spiritual significance. Some villagers have even described her as a goddess and discussed the possibility of building a temple in her honor.

For Lali’s parents, however, the attention has become overwhelming.

“She’s my daughter,” Vinod said. “I don’t want any more of this. I’m tired of people coming just to look at her.”

The family lives modestly in a small mud-and-brick home, where Lali is surrounded by the people who love her most. Her new-found reputation means little to the tiny baby, who simply rests peacefully in her grandfather’s arms.

Her parents say they do not want their first child to be treated as a spectacle.

“We don’t see her as anything other than our child,” Vinod explained. “We just want to enjoy our time with her and watch her grow.”

For a family facing an extraordinary beginning, their greatest wish is surprisingly simple: to protect their little girl, give her a loving childhood, and let her grow up knowing that she is loved exactly as she is.

Lali may have entered the world unlike any child her family had ever known — but to her parents, she is simply their precious first-born daughter.
