LUCY LETBY’S LIFE BEHIND BARS REVEALED BY FORMER INMATE — FROM SERVING FOOD TO WATCHING DVDS ALONE IN HER CELL

An ex-prisoner has described the convicted former nurse as quiet and isolated at HMP Bronzefield, offering a glimpse into her reported daily routine behind bars.

New details about Lucy Letby’s life in prison have emerged after a former inmate spoke about her reported routine at HMP Bronzefield, where the former neonatal nurse is serving multiple whole-life sentences.

According to the former prisoner, who spoke anonymously to The Sun, Letby spends much of her time keeping to herself, working in the prison’s food service area and watching films in her cell.

The 36-year-old reportedly works at the servery in the prison wing housing some of its most high-profile prisoners. The source also claimed she previously worked in the laundry.

Rather than taking part in many social activities, Letby is said to prefer a quieter routine, including exchanging DVDs with other inmates.

“She has to stay on her wing, and be with staff all the time,” the former inmate told the newspaper.

The source added that Letby generally keeps to herself and is recognised by other prisoners.

The former inmate claimed Letby is housed in Block 4, a unit for prisoners serving their first stage of life sentences and those with enhanced status for good behaviour.

According to the report, cells in the unit have private bathrooms, while prisoners can also access a library with staff supervision to borrow books and DVDs.

The source said Letby enjoys exchanging films with other inmates and reportedly watches television in her spare time.

However, despite opportunities to participate in prison activities, the former inmate claimed she does not attend events such as talent shows, even though prisoners are invited to take part.

The source described her as someone who tends to remain in the background rather than seek attention.

The latest account also revisits claims about the privileges available to Letby and other high-profile prisoners.

The Sun previously reported that Letby had developed a friendship with Beinash Batool, who was convicted in connection with the dєatᩚh of her stepdaughter, Sara Sharif.

According to sources quoted by the newspaper, the two women have spent time playing Uno, chatting and preparing food together.

Other inmates have reportedly complained that high-profile prisoners receive preferential treatment, including additional security arrangements and restrictions on access to certain facilities.

However, the latest former inmate account offered a different perspective, describing Letby as quiet rather than someone who behaves like a dominant figure within the prison.

These descriptions remain accounts from anonymous sources and have not been independently established as a complete picture of prison life.

The convictions she continues to challenge

Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others while working at the Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016.

She received 15 whole-life sentences and has consistently denied the offences.

After previous attempts to appeal her convictions were unsuccessful, her legal team submitted an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), the independent body responsible for investigating potential miscarriages of justice.

The commission can examine new evidence and arguments to determine whether a case should be referred back to the Court of Appeal.

No decision to overturn her convictions has been announced.

For now, Letby remains in prison while the CCRC process continues. The latest account from a former inmate has offered another glimpse into her reported daily routine, but the wider legal questions surrounding her case remain unresolved.
