“TURN YOURSELF IN!” — Family’s Desperate Plea After 15-Year-Old Javits Frimpong Is Killed on His Way to School, While His Mother Waits in Ghana

💔He came to America with a dream of becoming a doctor. He was just 15 years old, had an entire future ahead of him and had only been reunited with his father in New York a year earlier.

But on an ordinary Thursday morning, Javits Frimpong never made it to school.

Now, his family is demanding justice, his father is struggling to understand how his son could be taken away so suddenly, and his mother in Ghana is facing the unimaginable pain of preparing to say goodbye from thousands of miles away.

Javits Frimpong, 15, was walking to school in the Claremont section of the Bronx, New York, shortly before 9:30 a.m. on October 29, 2026.

According to the New York Police Department, the teenager was near East 171st Street and Crotona Place when he was shot in the abdomen.

Officers responding to the incident found him seriously injured and rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital.

Despite efforts to save him, Javits was pronounced dead later that day.

He was only 15.

The teenager had moved from Ghana to New York approximately one year earlier to live with his father, Thomas Frimpong, and begin a new chapter of his life.

His family had hoped America would offer him greater opportunities and a brighter future.

Instead, they are now mourning a son whose dreams were never given the chance to come true.

In the days before the tᩚraɢedy, Thomas Frimpong said he learned that his son had been experiencing bullying at school.

According to Thomas, the school principal had informed him that two students had been suspended following an incident involving his son.

Thomas said Javits had previously told him that other students were bothering him during lunchtime.

He recalled asking his son about the situation and receiving reassurance that everything was okay.

His father described Javits as a quiet, intelligent teenager who rarely went out and preferred spending time at home.

He also said his son dreamed of becoming a doctor.

The bullying allegations have added another painful dimension to the family’s search for answers.

However, police have not confirmed that bullying was connected to the fatal incident, and investigators have not publicly established a motive.

“Turn yourself in” — A family’s desperate message

As news of Javits’s dєatᩚh spread, family members and members of the Ghanaian community gathered in the Bronx to demand justice.

A memorial began growing near the location where the teenager was shot.

Candles, flowers and messages of remembrance appeared as people came together to honor his life.

At a community rally, a family friend named Keymama delivered an emotional message directed at those responsible.

“Javits had only been one year in the United States. Guys, if you’re watching me, turn yourself in for us to make peace.”

Her words reflected the family’s desperation for answers and the pain of knowing that the people responsible had not yet been brought before the courts.

Javits’s father also made an emotional appeal, insisting that those responsible should not escape accountability.

Police are searching for three teenage suspects believed to be between 16 and 18 years old.

Investigators said they were last seen wearing dark clothing and blue surgical masks.

As of November 3, no arrests had been publicly announced, and the investigation remained ongoing.

The heartbreaking distance between a mother and her son

Perhaps one of the most devastating aspects of this tᩚraɢedy is the situation facing Javits’s mother.

While his father was in New York, his mother remained in Ghana.

She received the heartbreaking news that her 15-year-old son had died thousands of miles away.

According to reports, she struggled to accept the news and wanted to see her son’s body before fully believing what had happened.

For a mother, being unable to reach her child during such a devastating moment is an unimaginable form of heartbreak.

The family also faced the challenge of arranging a visa so she could travel to the United States and attend her son’s funeral.

The issue soon attracted attention from local and national officials.

A major development: Trump agrees to grant his mother a visa

On October 31, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that he had spoken with President Donald Trump about the family’s situation.

According to Mamdani, Trump had agreed to grant Javits’s mother a visa immediately so she could travel from Ghana to say goodbye to her son in person.

“The murder of a child is a pain no parent should have to endure, let alone from thousands of miles away,” Mamdani said.

“Javits Frimpong’s mother deserves to say goodbye to her son in person.”

The announcement brought a measure of hope to a family facing an otherwise devastating situation.

Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa also said Ghanaian officials in New York were coordinating with local authorities and would work with American officials to help secure justice.

A school community left heartbroken

Javits’s dєatᩚh has also deeply affected students and teachers in the Bronx.

On November 2, classmates gathered for a silent vigil in his memory.

Students carried signs reading “Justice for Javits,” “Forever 15” and “Protect Kids, Not Guns.”

The messages reflected the grief and anger of young people who are struggling to understand why one of their classmates never returned to school.

Some students also spoke about their fears surrounding violence and safety in their own neighborhood.

For them, Javits was not simply a name in a news report.

He was a fellow student, a classmate and a teenager who should have been sharing ordinary school days with them.

A dream of becoming a doctor cut short

Javits had come to America with hopes of building a better future.

His father wanted him to have opportunities, education and the chance to achieve his dreams.

He was described as clever and quiet, a boy who had so much potential ahead of him.

His ambition was to become a doctor — a profession built around helping others.

Now, instead of celebrating his future achievements, his family is preparing to bury him.

His mother is hoping to make the journey from Ghana to New York.

His father is left with memories of the son he brought to America in search of a better life.

And his classmates are left asking why a teenager walking to school could lose his life in such a devastating way.

Javits Frimpong was only 15. He deserved the chance to grow up, pursue his dream and become the person he wanted to be.

His family’s message remains clear: they want answers, they want justice, and they want those responsible to come forward.

May Javits rest in peace. And may his mother, father and loved ones find the strength to endure the days ahead.
