“I’VE GOT TURBULENCE, I’VE GOT ICE”: 20-YEAR-OLD CO-PILOT’S FINAL MESSAGE BEFORE diᩚadℓy FLORIDA PLANE 𝔠r𝘢sh

Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras reportedly texted her pilot boyfriend about dangerous conditions just 10 minutes before the Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County, 𝘬iᩚlling all nine people aboard. Her family is now grieving a young woman who had dreamed of flying since childhood.

A brief message sent from thousands of feet in the air has become one of the most heartbreaking details to emerge from a diᩚadℓy plane 𝔠r𝘢sh in Florida.

Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, a 20-year-old co-pilot aboard a private Learjet 60, reportedly contacted her boyfriend shortly before the aircraft went down in Palm Beach County on November 1.

Her stepfather, Thiago Corteleti, told the New York Post that Nathalia sent the message at approximately 12:40 p.m. The 𝔠r𝘢sh occurred around 12:50 p.m.

“She just said, ‘I’ve got turbulence, I’ve got ice,’” Corteleti recalled.

Those words offered a glimpse of the conditions the young pilot was experiencing during what would become the final flight of her life.

The Learjet 60 had departed Austin, Texas, and was heading toward North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas when the emergency unfolded.

According to air traffic control communications, the crew reported icing, precipitation and moderate turbulence while flying through difficult weather conditions.

The situation then deteriorated rapidly.

The aircraft began losing altitude, and the crew declared an emergency. Investigators have also reported indications that the aircraft began breaking apart before impact.

All nine people aboard were killed when the jet crashed in the Greenacres area of Palm Beach County.

Nathalia’s reported message to her boyfriend has drawn particular attention because it was sent only minutes before the disaster. However, investigators have not determined whether the reported weather conditions caused the 𝔠r𝘢sh.

SHE HAD DREAMED OF BECOMING A PILOT SINCE CHILDHOOD

For Nathalia, aviation was more than a career. It was a dream she had pursued from a young age.

She earned her private pilot’s license at just 17, while still in high school. Her family said she had accumulated approximately 1,300 flight hours by the time of her dєatᩚh.

Her achievement was especially remarkable given her age. She had built a life around flying and was determined to continue developing her career in aviation.

Her family described her as a young woman with a strong passion for her profession and a future she had worked hard to build.

She also shared her love of flying on social media, including photographs and videos taken during flights with her boyfriend, who was also a pilot.

For those closest to her, the loss is not only the dєatᩚh of a talented young aviator, but the loss of a daughter whose ambitions and future were still unfolding.

NINE PEOPLE NEVER MADE IT TO THEIR DESTINATION

The Learjet was carrying seven passengers and two crew members.

Among those aboard were Captain Jeff Gregory, 55, and co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20.

The passengers included technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, their two young children, Emma and Charlie, as well as Rachael Reed, Charmi Fehr and Anita Maria Cetina.

All nine lives were lost.

The tᩚraɢedy has left several families mourning loved ones who had boarded the aircraft expecting an ordinary journey to the Bahamas.

WHAT CAUSED THE LEARJET TO GO DOWN?

The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Investigators are examining the aircraft wreckage, flight information, weather conditions and the crew’s final communications.

An NTSB official said investigators had found indications that the aircraft began breaking apart before it struck the ground. The significance of that evidence, and what may have led to the aircraft’s loss of control, remain under investigation.

Although the crew reported icing and turbulence, officials have not announced a definitive cause.

Nathalia’s message may remain one of the most personal accounts of the flight’s final minutes, but it does not by itself establish what caused the 𝔠r𝘢sh.

A DREAM THAT ENDED FAR TOO SOON

At just 20 years old, Nathalia had already achieved something she once dreamed of as a child: becoming a pilot.

She had earned her license, accumulated hundreds of hours in the air and begun building a professional future in aviation.

Now, her family is left with memories of a young woman who loved flying and worked toward her ambitions with determination.

Her reported final message was only a few words, but it has become a painful reminder of how suddenly the lives of nine people changed that afternoon.

May Nathalia and everyone aboard rest in peace. May their families find comfort and strength as they face an unimaginable loss.
