A MATCH THAT TURNED INTO A tᩚraɢedy

The incident happened on Monday, November 2, during CD Tenerife’s match against FC Andorra in Spain’s second division.

The game was tied 2–2 when the match entered stoppage time.

As Tenerife pushed forward in search of a late opportunity, De Miguel ran toward the center of the pitch to challenge for a long ball.

FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono rushed out of his penalty area to intercept it.

The two players collided, with Owono’s knee striking De Miguel in the chest.
