The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)

“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” released in 2013, is the second installment in the three-part film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved novel “The Hobbit.” Directed by Peter Jackson, this epic fantasy adventure continues the journey of Bilbo Baggins and his companions.

As the group travels through the treacherous Mirkwood Forest, they encounter various dangers, including giant spiders and hostile Wood-elves led by King Thranduil (played by Lee Pace). Along the way, they are aided by the brave Elf warrior Tauriel (played by Evangeline Lilly) and the familiar character Legolas (played by Orlando Bloom).
Bilbo, who now wields the One Ring he found in the previous film, plays a crucial role in their journey.
