A heartbreaking and unusual dєatᩚh investigation is underway in Georgia after a 4-year-old girl was reportedly found upside down and submerged in a large trash can filled with water and fish inside her family’s home.

Jayde Wooten died Saturday, Sept. 19, following the incident at a home in the 1200 block of Rocky Creek Road in Macon, Georgia.

According to an incident report obtained by local media, Jayde’s father told investigators he had just arrived home when he realized his daughter was nowhere to be found.

He reportedly went into Jayde’s bedroom but she was not there. He then woke the child’s mother, who had been sleeping. According to the report, Jayde’s mother told him the 4-year-old had been in the kitchen eating when she fell asleep.

Jayde’s father began frantically searching throughout the home. When he still could not find her, he went outside and asked neighbors whether anyone had seen the little girl.

Moments later, he heard Jayde’s mother scream from inside the house.

He ran back inside and discovered Jayde in a small bathroom, where she was reportedly upside down inside a large trash can containing water and fish.

Jayde’s father immediately pulled her from the container and carried her outside in an attempt to get help.

According to reports, investigators later observed large amounts of water on the bathroom floor as well as a trail of water extending from the bathroom toward the front door.

Neighbors rushed over to help the family and began performing CPR on Jayde. One neighbor reportedly told investigators that fluid came from the little girl’s mouth during resuscitation efforts and that Jayde briefly opened her eyes. Another person at the scene, however, reported being unable to detect a pulse.

Bibb County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the home shortly before 2 p.m. Deputies continued providing aid until firefighters and paramedics arrived.

Jayde was rushed to a local hospital, where she was ultimately pronounced dead.

Exactly how Jayde ended up upside down inside the water-filled container has not publicly been explained.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding her dєatᩚh. As of Sept. 24, authorities have not publicly announced an official cause of dєatᩚh or said that anyone has been charged in connection with the case.

A fundraiser established for Jayde’s family describes what happened as a “horrible accident” and is raising money to help her parents with funeral expenses and other costs associated with her dєatᩚh. I will put the link in the comments.

Jayde’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, at Saint John Baptist Church in Macon.
