Lindsay Clancy’s Lone Holdout Juror Breaks Silence — The Bombshell Claim That Could Change How People See the Case

The holdout juror whose refusal to agree on a verdict led to a mistrial in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial has spoken out, explaining why he voted to find her guilty.

Michael Péguy Desronvil, 48, refused to agree to a not-guilty verdict in the Lindsay Clancy case last month, resulting in a mistrial.

She was on trial for 𝘬iᩚlling her three children. Her defense has argued that she should not be held criminally responsible for the deaths because she was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis at the time. Prosecutors, however, maintained that she understood her actions and knew what she was doing.

After more than 38 hours of deliberations, the case ended in a mistrial after the jury became ᴅᴇᴀᴅlocked at 11-1.

Called the killings “methodical”

In a statement released through his attorney, Edward Paltzik, Desronvil previously pushed back against these accounts from his fellow jurors.

“I didn’t have any doubts,” Desronvil said.

Now, in his first interview since the trial, speaking to Kayleigh McEnany at Fox News, he has once again defended his stance, saying she was “methodical” in what he refered to as the “exє𝔠uti☉n” of her children.

“That was really big for me, you know, from watching the video and also listening in the courtroom,” he said. “The thought process that goes behind… to fulfill the commitment of doing that.

“I have a daughter myself that’s 5 years old,” he said. “So seeing these three kids, it’s emotional. You can see the innocence, the pure joy in them. It’s hard to just take that away.”

Fellow jurors accused Desronvil of pushing for a guilty verdict despite having his own reasonable doubts about the prosecution’s arguments.

“I had a lot of evidence to back up my claim,” he said. “But because out of respect of the other jurors in the court system, I will put that to sleep for now until, you know, they go through the process.”

One of the things that led to his desicion, he explained, was the 911 call made by Clancy’s husband.

“Hearing the pain in his voice, hearing the desperation from that clip — it was surreal,”

The future of Clancy’s case remains uncertain. The judge has rejected one of her requests to avoid a retrial, according to CNN. Clancy has another request to have the case dismissed that is still awaiting a decision. Meanwhile, prosecutors in Plymouth County, Mᴀssachusetts, have not yet decided whether to retry her.

Desronvil was the only juror to vote for a conviction, while the other 11 found her not criminally responsible due to “a mєntal disease or defect.”
