“OUR BEAUTIFUL HANNAH”: FAMILY’S HEARTBREAKING TRIBUTE TO ROYAL FAMILY GP AS HUSBAND FACES MURDER CHARGE
Dr Hannah Cain, 45, was remembered as a “kind, generous and loving” mother and doctor after she was found dead at her home in Norfolk.

Her husband, Mark Cain, has been charged in connection with her dєatᩚh and remains in custody as court proceedings continue.

The family of Dr Hannah Cain are facing an unimaginable loss after the dєatᩚh of the beloved GP whose patients knew her professionally as Dr Hannah Terry.

In a moving tribute, her relatives described her as “our beautiful Hannah”, remembering a woman who devoted herself to caring for others and was deeply loved by her family.

The 45-year-old doctor was found unresponsive at a property on Fern Hill in Dersingham, Norfolk, in the early hours of Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Her dєatᩚh prompted a police investigation and widespread attention because of her reported connection to the medical team that provides care for members of the Royal Family when they stay at the nearby Sandringham Estate.

Her husband, Mark Cain, 45, was subsequently charged with her murder.

He appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on October 7 before appearing at King’s Lynn Crown Court the following day.

As the legal process continues, Hannah’s family have asked for privacy while they grieve a woman they described as a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law and friend.
“WE ARE DEVASTATED BY THE LOSS OF OUR BEAUTIFUL HANNAH”
In a statement released through Norfolk Police, Hannah’s family shared their grief and paid tribute to the woman they knew beyond her professional reputation.

“We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful Hannah,” they said.

They described her as “kind, generous and loving”, adding that they were incredibly proud of the woman she had become and the care she gave to her patients.

For those who knew her as Dr Terry, she was a familiar and trusted presence in their lives.

For her family, she was someone whose importance could never be measured by her career or public profile alone.

Their tribute reflected the many roles Hannah held in the lives of those closest to her: a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law and friend.

They also praised the dedication she showed to her patients, highlighting the compassion that had become part of her professional life.

The family concluded their statement by asking the public to respect their privacy during what they described as an extremely difficult time.

A DOCTOR WHO HELPED CARE FOR THE ROYAL FAMILY
Hannah worked at Grimston Medical Centre in Norfolk and was known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry.

She had been a qualified doctor for more than 15 years and had worked as a general practitioner for eight years, according to information published by her business, Norfolk Sky Aesthetics.

She also ran the aesthetics business alongside her medical work.

Reports by several British news organisations said Hannah was part of a pool of doctors regularly available to provide medical care to members of the Royal Family when they stayed at Sandringham.

The royal estate is located close to Dersingham, where Hannah lived and where she was found.

Her reported connection to royal healthcare brought additional public attention to the case.

Yet her family’s tribute focused on a more personal legacy: the care she gave her patients and the love she shared with those around her.

Following the news of her dєatᩚh, colleagues in the NHS also paid tribute to her, describing her as highly intelligent, kind and generous, and as someone who brought warmth and positivity to others.

Grimston Medical Centre temporarily closed following the incident, citing extremely difficult circumstances affecting its practice team.

WHAT THE COURT HEARD
Emergency services were called to Hannah’s home during the early hours of October 4.

At Norwich Magistrates’ Court, prosecutor Jacqui Hanlon told the court that paramedics had found Hannah in an upstairs bedroom, unconscious and not breathing.

A post-mortem examination identified a blunt-force injury to the right side of her head.

The court was also told of an injury that could be suggestive of compression of the neck.

Norfolk Police confirmed that Mark Cain had been charged with murder on October 6 following an investigation into the circumstances of Hannah’s dєatᩚh.

He appeared before magistrates the following morning.

During that brief hearing, he confirmed his personal details and was not asked to enter a plea.

He was remanded in custody and subsequently appeared at King’s Lynn Crown Court by video link on October 8.

At that hearing, the court heard that he was accused of murdering his wife at their family home on October 3 or in the early hours of October 4.

He was remanded in custody until a plea hearing provisionally scheduled for December 3 at Norwich Crown Court.

No provisional trial date had been set in the reports available at the time.

The charges remain allegations.

Mark Cain has the right to a fair trial, and his guilt has not been established by a court.

A FAMILY LEFT TO GRIEVE
The circumstances of Hannah’s dєatᩚh have drawn attention to a case that has deeply affected her family, colleagues and local community.

But behind the court appearances and police investigation is a family coping with the loss of someone they loved.

Hannah’s relatives have spoken about her kindness, generosity and devotion to her patients.

Their words paint a picture of a woman whose life extended far beyond the headlines surrounding her dєatᩚh.

For her patients, she was a doctor entrusted with their care.

For her colleagues, she was a valued member of the medical community.

For her family, she was a beloved mother and relative whose place in their lives cannot simply be filled.

The family’s request for privacy underlines the need to remember the human impact of the case while allowing the legal process to proceed.

QUESTIONS REMAIN AS PROCEEDINGS CONTINUE
Norfolk Police’s investigation led to the charge against Mark Cain, while prosecutors presented details of the case during the initial court hearings.

However, the legal proceedings are ongoing, and the available information does not establish a final judicial finding about responsibility for Hannah’s dєatᩚh.

As the case moves towards its next hearing, the family continues to mourn a woman they described with unmistakable affection.

Their tribute was not centred on her reported royal connection or the attention surrounding the case.

Instead, it focused on Hannah herself: her generosity, her love for her family and the care she gave to the people who depended on her.

“Our beautiful Hannah” is how her family will remember her — not simply as a doctor whose dєatᩚh became a national news story, but as a much-loved woman whose loss has changed the lives of those closest to her forever.

This article reflects information reported by October 23, 2026.

Mark Cain has been charged with murder but has not been convicted.

Court proceedings remain active.
