Georgia Man Accused of 𝘬iᩚlling Wife’s Alleged Lover in Restaurant śh́óóting That Left 2 Others Injured

A Georgia man is accused of fatally śh́óóting a 44-year-old man he allegedly believed was having an affair with his wife, in a late-night śh́óóting outside a restaurant that also left two other people injured.
Daniel Roman-Cortez was arrested after police responded to reports of gunfire near a restaurant on Buford Highway in Doraville, Georgia, shortly after midnight on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
According to police accounts cited by local media, officers spotted Roman-Cortez attempting to leave the area in a blue pickup truck and initiated a traffic stop. He allegedly told officers, “I shot him, I killed him,” as he surrendered.
Police then found Pablo Gutierrez-Gallegos lying unresponsive on the pavement near the restaurant. Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators allege that Roman-Cortez told them the śh́óóting stemmed from his belief that Gutierrez-Gallegos was “sleeping with his wife.” Authorities have not publicly established whether that belief was accurate.
Two other people inside the restaurant suffered minor injuries from broken glass during the gunfire. They were treated at the scene, according to reports.
Roman-Cortez faces a murder charge, six counts of aggravated assault and a charge of criminal damage to property. He was being held at the DeKalb County Jail without bond, according to PEOPLE.

The Doraville Police Department is investigating alongside the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Police Chief Jason C. Deyette said the department was committed to conducting a thorough investigation and pursuing justice for the victim and his family.
Gutierrez-Gallegos’s family has launched a fundraiser to help cover the cost of returning his remains to Mexico for his funeral. His sister described the family as devastated by his dєatᩚh and remembered him as a friendly man who did not deserve to lose his life in this way.
The case remains under investigation. The accusations against Roman-Cortez have not been proven in court.
