According to reports, Rhaynny was rescued near the entrance of a club and rushed to São Vicente de Paulo Hospital. She died at approximately 6:20 a.m.

Laura was carried downstream for at least 1.2 miles before firefighters found her body among rocks at around 9:40 a.m.

Their deaths devastated relatives, friends and members of the local community, who were left mourning two young lives lost in such tragic circumstances.

TRIBUTES POUR IN FOR LAURA AND RHAYNNY

Laura was a passionate supporter of Brazilian football club Santos FC.

The club’s young supporters’ group shared a tribute remembering her joy, her love of the team and the special bond she shared with her father.

The message offered condolences to her family and friends, saying her memory would remain alive in the hearts of those who knew her.

Rhaynny’s girlfriend also shared a heartbreaking farewell, describing her as a loving person who always put the people she cared about first.

She expressed the difficulty of accepting that Rhaynny was gone and mourned the experiences they would never have the chance to share.

 SEVERE FLOODING HIT THE REGION

The deaths occurred after days of heavy rainfall. Jundiaí reportedly recorded 79 millimetres of rain, contributing to dangerous flooding across the area.

The severe conditions also damaged a bridge, caused a collapse along the bank of the Jundiaí River and disrupted train services between São Paulo and Jundiaí for more than four hours.

Organisers of the university party expressed their sorrow over the deaths and said they were in contact with the families to offer support.
