A New Mexico dad fatally shot his longtime partner before turning the gun on himself over the weekend — while their five children were inside the house.
Las Cruces police officers rushed to the family’s residence around 8:30 a.m. Saturday and found the bodies of Angelica Aguirre, 30, and her boyfriend, Shane Perez, 46, authorities said.

Cops confirmed the incident was a murder-sᩚuᩚiᩚcide, determining Perez ɠυɳned down Aguirre before taking his own life.
The five children, aged 3 to 14, were all inside the home as the horrific śh́óóting unfolded — but none were physically harmed.
The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department placed the now-orphaned children in the care of a family member.
Authorities have not yet released a potential motive in the case.
The shock violence stood in stark contrast to Aguirre’s social media feed, where she routinely shared photos of family outings and loving posts about Perez, according to People.
Last November, she reposted a message on Facebook thanking Perez for “all that you do for the family.”
