PART 2: THE MAFIA KING 𝘴ℓappєḋ HIS WIFE FOR HIS FIRST LOVE—THEN DISCOVERED WHAT SHE HAD THROWN AWAY!hl

PART 2: THE BOX HE WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO OPEN
The sound of the slap still echoed through the mansion.

Isabella stood motionless, one hand pressed against her cheek. Across the room, her husband, Alexander Moretti—the most feared mafia king in New York—was holding his former lover, Victoria, close to his chest.

“Alexander,” Isabella whispered, her voice trembling. “You just chose her over your own wife.”

Victoria lowered her eyes, pretending to be uncomfortable.

“Please, don’t fight because of me,” she murmured. “I never wanted to come between you two.”

Alexander immediately turned toward her.

“You’re not coming between anyone, sweetheart. You were here before her.”

Those words broke something inside Isabella.

She slowly removed her wedding ring and placed it on the marble table.

“Congratulations, Victoria. You’ve finally got what you wanted.”

Alexander scoffed.

“Don’t make a scene, Isabella. You’ll regret walking away from me.”

But Isabella simply smiled through her tears.

“That’s the difference between you and me, Alexander. You think losing you is the worst thing that could happen to me.”

She picked up her handbag and walked toward the front door.

Before leaving, she turned around one last time.

“Oh, and there’s something you should know. I threw away the one thing you spent the last six months desperately trying to find.”

Alexander’s expression changed.

“What are you talking about?”

Isabella looked directly into his eyes.

“The original black ledger. The one containing every name, every payment, and every secret your father left behind.”

His face went pale.

“WHERE IS IT?”

She paused.

“Where you told me I belonged when you 𝘴ℓappєḋ me.”

Then she walked out into the rain.

THE DISCOVERY
Twenty minutes later, Alexander stormed into Isabella’s dressing room.

Her clothes were gone. Her jewelry was gone. Even the wedding pH๏τograph had disappeared.

On the floor sat a small black box.

He opened it.

Inside was a pH๏τograph of his late father, a handwritten letter, and a silver key.

His hands began to shake as he unfolded the letter.

Alexander,

If you’re reading this, then you’ve finally made the same mistake I feared you would make.

Never trust Victoria. She didn’t return because she loves you. She returned because she knows what your wife has been protecting you from.

Alexander stopped breathing.

He turned the page.

Your wife saved your life six months ago. She destroyed the evidence that would have sent you to prison, and she sacrificed everything to keep your enemies away from your family.

But there’s something even worse.

The person who ordered the attack against you is someone you currently trust.

Alexander stared at the final sentence.

Then his phone rang.

It was his head of security.

“Boss, we have a problem.”

“What?”

“We checked the security footage. Victoria was in your office last night.”

Alexander’s jaw тιԍнтened.

“What was she doing?”

A long silence followed.

Then the guard whispered:

“She was searching for the original ledger. And boss… she wasn’t alone.”

Alexander looked down at the pH๏τograph.

Standing beside Victoria was a man he recognized immediately.

His own older brother.

THE FINAL TWIST
Alexander grabbed his coat and rushed toward the front entrance.

“Find Isabella! I want every car, every guard, every camera searching for her!”

But his security chief looked terrified.

“Boss… there’s one more thing.”

“What now?”

“Mrs. Moretti left something at the gate.”

He handed Alexander a small envelope.

Inside was Isabella’s wedding ring.

And a note:

“You protected the woman who betrayed you. I protected the man who never knew he was in danger. Don’t come looking for me, Alexander. Next time we meet, I’ll be the one holding all the cards.”

For the first time in his life, the Mafia King had no idea what to do.

Because the woman he had just 𝘴ℓappєḋ…

Was the only person who knew the truth about the empire he was trying so desperately to protect.
