AFTER NEARLY FOUR MONTHS, XAVIER TAYLOR’S FAMILY FINALLY SEES SIGNS OF PROGRESS

Nearly four months after 12-year-old Xavier Taylor was critically injured in a baseball accident, his family continues to hold onto hope as his recovery slowly moves forward.

Xavier was injured on May 26 after being struck by a baseball during warmups before a championship game in Maple Shade, New Jersey. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital and has remained in a serious condition ever since.

In the latest public update, Xavier’s father, Gregory Taylor, said the family has noticed several encouraging changes. Xavier has gained weight, is regulating his body temperature and no longer needs many of the medications he previously required. His father also said his laboratory results have improved.

Xavier has since been moved from the hospital to a short-term care facility, although he remains dependent on a ventilator and has not yet awakened, according to the family’s latest public update.

For Brittney and Gregory, these developments represent small but meaningful steps after months of uncertainty.

The baseball community has continued standing behind the Taylor family throughout Xavier’s recovery. More than $100,000 has been raised for the family, while teams and supporters across the country have held vigils, worn Xavier’s No. 6 and organized messages of encouragement.

Gregory remains hopeful that his son will eventually wake up. He has even imagined the moment Xavier might finally ask what happened while he was away from his normal life.

For now, the family continues to take Xavier’s recovery one day at a time — holding onto every sign of progress while hoping for the next milestone.
