SIR TOM JONES, 86, POSTPONES MORE US CONCERTS ON DOCTOR’S ORDERS AFTER REVEALING BAD CASE OF THE FLU

The legendary Welsh singer has postponed several performances during his American tour after falling ill. Following his initial announcement about two California shows, further medical advice forced additional changes to his schedule.

Sir Tom Jones has left fans concerned after announcing a series of changes to his US concert schedule following a bout of flu.

The 86-year-old music legend revealed on October 26, 2026, that he had unexpectedly developed what he described as a “bad case of the flu” and had been advised by his doctor not to perform.

The announcement initially affected two concerts in California: one at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and another at The Rady Shell in San Diego.

But the situation developed further over the following days, with additional performances postponed after he received further medical advice.

In a message shared on social media, Jones explained that he had completed 20 performances across the United States before unexpectedly becoming unwell.

“I’ve had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I’ve been hit with a bad case of the flu,” he wrote.

“Following doctor’s advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight’s show in Los Angeles and tomorrow’s show in San Diego.”

He apologised to fans who had been planning to attend and said he hoped to see them soon.

The San Diego concert was moved to November 3, while the Los Angeles performance was rescheduled for November 4.

MORE SHOWS POSTPONED AS DOCTORS ADVISE FURTHER REST

On October 30, Jones announced another change to his touring schedule.

Following further advice from his doctor, his October 31 performance at Hard Rock Live Sacramento and his November 1 concert at the Masonic in San Francisco were postponed until further notice.

A separate performance at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in Highland, California, was also moved to November 6 after he was advised to take another day of rest.

The singer apologised again, acknowledging that the changes would disappoint fans who had been looking forward to seeing him perform.

No new dates had yet been announced for the Sacramento and San Francisco concerts.

Following the announcements, fans flooded social media with messages wishing the singer a speedy recovery.

Many encouraged him to take the time needed to rest rather than rush back onto the stage.

Jones has continued performing well into his 80s, maintaining a touring career that has spanned more than six decades.

His recent US performances had been part of the Come Gather Round World Tour, which brought him before audiences across the country.

A CAREER THAT HAS SPANNED GENERATIONS

Born in Pontypridd, Wales, Sir Tom Jones became an international star with hits including “It’s Not Unusual,” “What’s New Pussycat?” and “Delilah.”

His powerful voice and energetic performances have made him one of Britain’s most recognisable singers.

Over the years, he has received numerous awards, including a Grammy, Brit Awards and an Ivor Novello Award. He was knighted in 2006 for his services to music.

Despite the latest disruption, the singer has not announced the cancellation of his entire US tour.

FANS HOPE TO SEE HIM BACK ON STAGE

For now, fans are waiting for further updates on the postponed performances.

Jones has repeatedly apologised for the inconvenience and thanked audiences for their understanding and continued support.

The singer has not publicly disclosed any further medical diagnosis beyond the flu he described in his initial announcement.

As messages of encouragement continue to arrive, many fans are hoping the legendary performer will have the time he needs to recover.

After decades of entertaining audiences around the world, the message from his supporters is clear: his health comes first.
