Ex-college football star killed by cops after coming out to girlfriend — police may have fired fatal bullet at 3-year-old son

A former college football star was shot dead by cops when he attacked his girlfriend after coming out as gay — and his 3-year-old son ended up dead, too, possibly from a police bullet, authorities said.

Las Vegas cops previously claimed that Quinton Baker, 28 — a former running back for Portland State and Western Kentucky universities — had shot his own son dead while cruelly using him as a human shield and trying to evade police gunfire.

But police officials have now acknowledged that they are unable to determine whether they or Baker fired the shot that killed his son.

Police had been called to Baker’s apartment in February over reports that he had attacked his girlfriend and his son’s mom, Raneka Pate, and another woman after revealing his sexuality, FOX5 Vegas said.

Baker fled the apartment with his son Kentre in his arms, pointing a gun at the toddler’s chest, according to police.

𝘴h☉𝔠king bodycam footage released last week showed Baker advancing on the officers as they ordered him to drop his w𝔢𝔞𝔭𝔬η and he screamed, “Imma shoot myself!”

Baker, a Kentucky native, was able to fire four śh́óts between police opening fire on him and his falling to the ground, according to cops.

When the bullets ended, both he and the boy were dead.

Pate has disputed the cops’ account and is considering a wrongful-dєatᩚh suit, outlets said.

Baker averaged 165 yards a game and ranked among the top five players in the state while in college, according to a 2016 bio.

He was ranked as a three-star prospect and at one time was considered the No. 21-ranked all-purpose running back in the US by 247Sports.

He was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team his first year.
