“WE’RE OUT OF TIME” — 20-YEAR-OLD COPILOT NATHALIA GADELHA FILGUEIRAS IDENTIFIED AMONG NINE KILLED IN FLORIDA JET 𝔠r𝘢sh

She earned her pilot’s license at just 17, before she even had a driver’s license. Now, the young woman who once proudly declared that she could fly while others could only drive has become one of the victims of a devastating private jet 𝔠r𝘢sh in Florida.

A 20-year-old woman whose passion for aviation began when she was still a teenager has been identified by her family as the co-pilot aboard the Learjet 60 that crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras was among nine people killed when the private aircraft went down in a residential area near Greenacres at approximately 12:50 p.m.

The aircraft had departed Austin, Texas, and was traveling to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

It never reached its destination.

As the investigation continues, attention has turned toward Nathalia, a young pilot whose determination and love of flying had already made her a familiar face in local news years before the tᩚraɢedy.

For her family, the loss is especially devastating. A young woman who had worked toward her aviation dreams since childhood will never have the opportunity to see how far those dreams could take her.

Nathalia grew up in Palm Beach County, Florida, where her interest in aviation developed at an unusually young age.

Her father, Allan Filgueiras, began flying recreationally in 2018. Watching him sparked something in his daughter.

By 2020, Nathalia had already enrolled in ground-school training, beginning her preparation for a future in aviation.

Her dedication quickly became apparent.

In October 2023, while still a high school student at West Boca Raton Community High School, Nathalia earned her private pilot’s license at just 17 years old.

At the time, she had accumulated approximately 88 flight hours.

She had achieved something many adults only dream of accomplishing, and she did it before obtaining her driver’s license.

Her accomplishment attracted attention from local television station CBS12, which interviewed her about the unusual milestone.

During the interview, Nathalia jokingly explained how she responded when people pointed out that she could not yet drive a car.

“Definitely, I brag about it because people say, ‘Oh, you can’t drive,’ and I say, ‘Yeah, but I can fly,’” she said.

It was a lighthearted comment that reflected her confidence, ambition, and genuine excitement about aviation.

Nathalia’s interest in flying did not end with obtaining her first license.

She continued developing her aviation skills and eventually moved into professional flying.

According to reports following the 𝔠r𝘢sh, she had accumulated approximately 1,300 flight hours and had been working as a commercial pilot for around nine months.

Her journey from a teenager taking flight lessons to serving as a co-pilot aboard a private business jet was a remarkable achievement.

Her family had watched her pursue that ambition over several years.

Now, those memories are among the things her loved ones will carry forward.

The terrifying final moments of the Learjet flight

The Learjet 60 was traveling at approximately 35,000 feet when the crew began reporting difficult weather conditions.

Air traffic control recordings captured communications indicating that the aircraft was encountering ice accumulation, precipitation, and moderate turbulence.

The crew requested permission to climb to a higher altitude in an attempt to find smoother conditions.

But the situation deteriorated rapidly.

The aircraft began losing altitude at an alarming rate.

One of the crew members declared an emergency, issuing a Mayday call as the jet entered a steep and increasingly uncontrolled descent.

Radio communications captured the desperate situation unfolding inside the cockpit.

The crew reported descent rates of approximately 10,000 feet per minute, which subsequently increased dramatically.

A voice on the recording warned:

“We’re going to 𝔠r𝘢sh into the ground.”

Then came the final reported transmission:

“We’re out of time.”

Air traffic controllers continued attempting to communicate with the aircraft, but the transmission went silent.

Moments later, the Learjet crashed near Greenacres, 𝘬iᩚlling everyone aboard.

Nine people lost their lives

Nathalia was one of two crew members aboard the aircraft.

The other victims included technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, 45, his wife Helen Sharp, their children Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, their caregiver Anita Maria Cetina, and family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr.

The flight’s captain was also among those killed.

Nine people had boarded the aircraft for what was supposed to be a journey to the Bahamas.

None survived.

The loss of two very young children, alongside their parents and caregiver, has made the tᩚraɢedy especially difficult for the families and communities affected.

Each person aboard had a life, a family, and a story that extended far beyond the final moments of the flight.

Investigators work to determine what went wrong

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Investigators are examining the reported icing conditions, moderate turbulence, aircraft systems, and the rapid descent.

During an initial briefing, NTSB officials also revealed evidence suggesting that the aircraft may have begun breaking apart before hitting the ground.

The precise cause of the 𝔠r𝘢sh has not been determined.

Investigators are continuing to examine the wreckage and available flight information to reconstruct what happened.

Although the final radio transmissions have drawn widespread attention, authorities have not established the exact identity of every speaker heard in the recording.

A young woman whose future seemed limitless

For Nathalia’s family, the tᩚraɢedy represents the loss of a daughter who had spent much of her young life pursuing something she truly loved.

At 17, she had already accomplished what many people spend years working toward.

At 20, she was serving as a co-pilot and building a career in the skies.

Her playful words during that 2023 interview now carry a heartbreaking meaning.

She once proudly told people that although she could not drive, she could fly.

It was a glimpse into the personality of a young woman who was determined to follow her dreams.

Now, her family is left with memories of the girl who loved airplanes, the teenager who earned her license before her driver’s permit, and the young pilot whose journey ended far too soon.

Nathalia was only 20 years old.

May her family find strength and comfort during this unimaginable loss. And may all nine victims be remembered not only for the tᩚraɢedy that took their lives, but for the people they were and the dreams they carried.
