NJ maniac allegedly murders girlfriend — 33 days after being released from prison: cops

A New Jersey nutjob allegedly ɠυɳned down his girlfriend after a spat spiraled out of control Monday – barely a month after being released from prison, police said.

Ricardo A. Ferrera, 32, is accused of 𝘬iᩚlling his lover Christina Cruz, 30, striking her twice in the living room of a Franklin Township home. Ferrera had just walked out of South Woods State Prison 33 days ago for śh́óóting at two women, NJ.com reported.

It is unclear what sparked Monday’s fight.

A witness told cops he was in a bedroom near the living room when he heard the couple arguing – before two śh́óts rang out, according to an affidavit obtained by the outlet.

The man said he heard a thud and what sounded like Cruz gasping for air, the affidavit said.

Another witness who lived upstairs with her three children said she rushed downstairs after she heard gunfire, only to find Cruz on the floor.

The woman said when she saw Ferrera, he simply told her “I have to go,” and jetted off in a vehicle, the affidavit said.

First responders rushed to the scene around 12:35 a.m. and found Cruz face down. She was pronounced dead soon after, according to authorities.

The ruthless recidivist had just finished a prison stint on Sept. 30 for śh́óóting at two women who were driving in Vineland on Jan. 18, 2022, the outlet reported.

The woman driving Ferrera told police that he’d threatened her with a gun to tail the women’s vehicles, court records show.

He was sentenced to five years in prison, according to the New Jersey Department of Corrections website.

Ferrera was charged with first-degree murder in Monday’s śh́óóting, along with weapons charges, authorities said.

A July 2025 conviction for unlawful possession of a firearm was also mentioned in the affidavit.

Attorney contact for Ferrera was not immediately available and The Post could not reach him for comment.
