HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: 10-YEAR-OLD MALAYSHIA ALFORD FOUND DEAD IN NEW JERSEY AFTER 10-DAY SEARCH — FOSTER MOTHER CHARGED WITH MURDER

A desperate search for a missing 10-year-old Philadelphia girl has ended in tᩚraɢedy after her body was discovered inside the trunk of a vehicle in New Jersey. Authorities have now revealed disturbing details about the final days of her life, as the child’s foster mother faces multiple criminal charges.

A heartbreaking case that has shaken two communities has taken a devastating turn.

Malayshia Alford, a 10-year-old girl from West Philadelphia, was found dead inside the trunk of a car in Lindenwold, New Jersey, on Wednesday night, November 4, 2026, bringing an end to an intensive search that had lasted more than a week.

Her disappearance had prompted an extensive investigation involving Philadelphia police, the FBI and law enforcement agencies in New Jersey.

On Thursday, November 5, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced that Malayshia’s foster mother, 36-year-old Caprice Williams, had been arrested and charged in connection with the child’s dєatᩚh.

The announcement came during a press conference that revealed a disturbing timeline of events investigators had uncovered.

THE LAST TIME MALAYSHIA WAS SEEN ALIVE

According to Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski, investigators determined that Malayshia was last seen alive on Thursday, October 22, at a residence on the 500 block of North Simpson Street in West Philadelphia, where she had been living with her foster mother.

However, she was not reported missing until Monday, October 26.

Earlier reports had suggested that the little girl was last seen on October 26, but investigators later corrected that timeline during Thursday’s press conference.

As the investigation progressed, authorities began examining surveillance footage and inconsistencies surrounding the circumstances of her disappearance.

One discovery would prove particularly significant.

SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE REVEALS A DISTURBING DEVELOPMENT

Investigators recovered surveillance footage showing activity outside the residence at approximately 1:53 a.m. on Monday, October 26.

According to prosecutors, the footage showed what appeared to be Malayshia’s body being removed from the home in some type of bag.

The discovery changed the direction of the investigation.

Authorities used the footage to identify a vehicle of interest and trace an individual connected to it.

That individual was subsequently located and interviewed by investigators. Information obtained during the interview eventually led law enforcement to the vehicle where Malayshia’s body had been left.

On Wednesday evening, November 4, authorities discovered her remains inside the trunk of a vehicle at an apartment complex in Lindenwold, Camden County, New Jersey.

The discovery came after days of searching and appeals for information from the public.

vMEDICAL EXAMINER CONFIRMS CAUSE OF dєatᩚh

Following the discovery, Malayshia’s body was transported to the New Jersey Medical Examiner’s Office for examination.

During the November 5 press conference, authorities confirmed that the preliminary examination identified blunt force trauma as the cause of dєatᩚh.

The manner of dєatᩚh was officially ruled a homicide.

Investigators also revealed that they had uncovered indications that the child may have experienced physical 𝘢bu𝘴e.

However, authorities have not publicly detailed every circumstance surrounding the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.

FOSTER MOTHER FACES MULTIPLE CRIMINAL CHARGES

Following the investigation, Caprice Williams, 36, was arrested and charged in connection with Malayshia’s dєatᩚh.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, the charges include:

  • Murder.
  • Endangering the welfare of a child.
  • Criminal use of a communication facility.
  • Possession of an instrument of crime.
  • Recklessly endangering another person.
  • Tampering with evidence.
  • 𝘢bu𝘴e of a corpse.

District Attorney Larry Krasner emphasized that authorities intend to pursue the case vigorously.

Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of further developments as they continue examining the evidence and the events surrounding Malayshia’s final days.

The charges are allegations, and Williams is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

A COMMUNITY LEFT HEARTBROKEN

As news of Malayshia’s dєatᩚh spread, the Philadelphia community was left grieving a child whose life ended far too soon.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel delivered an emotional message during the announcement, emphasizing what every child deserves.

“She deserved safety. She deserved to be loved. She deserved a chance to grow up.”

Those words captured the heartbreak felt by many who had followed the search and hoped that Malayshia would return home safely.

Her former teacher, Tashonna Moore, also remembered her as a sweet and kind little girl who had touched the lives of those around her.

Family members and community supporters had spent days hoping for answers, distributing missing-person flyers and appealing for help.

A vigil was also held in West Philadelphia as relatives and members of the community came together to remember the young girl.

Her uncle, Nafeese Hart, asked people to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers as they face an unimaginable loss.

AUTHORITIES CONTINUE INVESTIGATING

Although the discovery of Malayshia’s body has brought an end to the search, many questions surrounding her final days remain.

Investigators are continuing to examine the surveillance footage, the vehicle involved and the circumstances that led to the discovery of her remains in New Jersey.

Authorities have also indicated that there may be additional information released as the case moves forward.

For now, a family is left mourning a 10-year-old girl who should have had the opportunity to grow up, attend school, make memories and enjoy the childhood every child deserves.

Malayshia’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable children and ensuring that every warning sign is taken seriously.

She deserved to be safe. She deserved to be loved. And she deserved a future.

May her family find strength during this incredibly difficult time.
