Nanny Made Heartbreaking Final Video Call to Sister Before Learjet 𝔠r𝘢sh That Killed Nine

A 24-year-old nanny made one final video call to her sister shortly before boarding the private jet that would become the scene of a devastating tᩚraɢedy in Florida.
Anita Maria Cetina was among nine people killed when a Learjet 60 plunged into a residential area in Palm Beach County on November 1. The aircraft was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas, carrying a family of four, their nanny, two family friends and two pilots.
In the moments before the flight, Anita contacted her sister, Angie Ramirez Cetina, through a video call. During the conversation, she showed her the two young children she cared for and gave her a glimpse of the private aircraft.
Angie later recalled that her sister appeared genuinely happy and excited. It was to be Anita’s first trip to the Bahamas, and although she was traveling as part of her job, she reportedly viewed the journey as an enjoyable experience rather than simply another work assignment.
The call would become one of the family’s last memories of her.
Anita had been working as a nanny for the Robinson family, caring for their children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2. She was described as deeply devoted to the children and particularly fond of her role with the family.
Her sister said the two had shared an especially close relationship. Anita had supported Angie through important moments in her life, including pregnancy and childbirth, and had also become a loving aunt to her nephew.
The tᩚraɢedy unfolded when the Learjet crashed near Greenacres in Palm Beach County, 𝘬iᩚlling everyone aboard. The other victims included technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, their two children, family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr, and pilots Jeffrey Gregory and Nathalia Filgueiras.
Investigators have been examining the aircraft’s final moments. Before the 𝔠r𝘢sh, the crew reported icing and moderate turbulence while flying at approximately 35,000 feet. The pilots then requested permission to climb before the aircraft entered a rapid descent and transmitted a Mayday call.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the disaster. Officials have not yet established the definitive cause.
For Anita’s family, however, the technical questions surrounding the 𝔠r𝘢sh are only part of an unimaginable loss. Her sister’s recollection of that final video call has become a painful reminder of how ordinary and hopeful the moments before the tᩚraɢedy seemed.

Anita had called to share her excitement about the journey. Her family was left holding on to those final images of a young woman who had been looking forward to the trip.
