The 𝔠r𝘢sh occurred on October 17, 2026, at Stryker Sports Complex, where families had gathered to watch children play soccer. Police received emergency calls at approximately 3:25 p.m. reporting that a truck had entered the playing fields and struck multiple people.
Authorities identified the victims as Cole Adrian, 6, and Nicholas Schafer, 35, both from McPherson, Kansas. Police confirmed that the two were not related.
Ten people sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals. Those injured ranged in age from five to 68, and their injuries were initially described as non-life-threatening.
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver’s Chevrolet pickup had been parked near the soccer fields before it moved onto the field and struck players and spectators. The 34-year-old woman, who was visiting the complex because one of her children was playing soccer elsewhere, had two other children inside the vehicle at the time.
