Priest diᩚєs After Massive Crucifix Falls During Livestreamed Mass — His Final Words About dєatᩚh Now Carry a Haunting Meaning

He was reminding worshippers that everyone will one day face dєatᩚh. Moments later, a falling crucifix turned the Mass into a desperate emergency — and his final words took on a heartbreaking new meaning.

Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari was celebrating Mass at Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Church in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on October 17, 2026, when a large wooden crucifix behind the altar suddenly fell forward and struck him.

The incident unfolded during a livestreamed service, leaving worshippers screaming and rushing toward the altar in an attempt to help the priest. What began as a religious gathering quickly became a tᩚraɢedy that has shaken the local Catholic community.

The Archdiocese of Guayaquil confirmed the priest’s dєatᩚh. As church officials await a technical report on the fallen crucifix, questions remain about what caused the structure to come down.

But beyond the 𝘴h☉𝔠king circumstances of his dєatᩚh, another detail has drawn widespread attention: the message Father Sánchez had shared about mortality shortly before the fatal accident.

His Final Reflection Was About dєatᩚh — and the Time We Spend With God

During his homily, Father Sánchez reflected on the certainty that every person will eventually die.

“One day, all of us here will also die,” he told the congregation, according to a transcript published by Ecuadorian newspaper El Universo.

He went on to reflect on how people spend their time, encouraging worshippers to consider whether their daily priorities truly reflect what matters most.

His message urged people to make room for God and to value the time they share with their siblings, spouses, children and other loved ones.

The words now carry a painful significance in the wake of his dєatᩚh. Yet those who remember the priest are left with more than the circumstances of his final moments: they are also left with the message he wanted his congregation to take home.
